Job Summary

Our products, your drive! As a Software test engineer, you will be part of a small team responsible for upholding the quality of newly developed software applications. 
At eldoLED we develop a software application, which is used by customers, to reconfigure our drivers to suit their needs. This application is used in production environments by our customers and therefore needs to be thoroughly tested for stability and compatibility with all eldoLED products. 
As a Software test engineer, you’ll be responsible for building and maintaining an automated test strategy to improve cycle time and test coverage.
You will work closely with the software team, to make sure that the new functionality is implemented correctly and working according to specification.
You will also be responsible for translating the manual tests into automated tests.
Together with the software team, the goal is to incorporate your test strategy into the build pipeline of the company.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

Specific responsibilities include.

  • Spearheading test activities across multiple Development Teams and stakeholders.
  • Reviewing requirements, and user stories, and evaluating risks.
  • Drafting comprehensive test plans, including estimations for planning.
  • Evaluating integration testing and feature delivery.
  • Crafting test specifications, implementing automated test scripts, and reviewing colleagues' test specs.
  • Executing test cases, analyzing results, and compiling test reports.
  • Providing transparent test progress reports and offering well-founded release recommendations.
  • Maintaining and enhancing the utilization of test benches to alleviate pressure on R&D systems and enhance test coverage.
  • Pursuing and aiding developers in problem-solving endeavors.
  • Instigating and supporting initiatives aimed at enhancing product quality.

Skills and Minimum Experience Required

Position Requirements

  • The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications and experiences:
  • A technical master’s or bachelor’s degree (e.g., Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or Applied Physics).
  • At least 8 years of pertinent experience in test design and testing of intricate multidisciplinary (hardware/software) systems.
  • Proficiency in various testing techniques, encompassing functional and non-functional testing, and test automation.
  • In possession of an ISTQB certification. (or equivalent or relative experience).
  • Experience in quality enhancement endeavors (both processes and products).


Competencies

  • The successful candidate should demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:
  • Proficiency in Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • A solid grasp of test processes, methodologies, and standards, ideally supported by an ISTQB certification.
  • Experience in building Test automation frameworks.
  • A hands-on approach to tasks.
  • Application of risk-based testing to optimize test resource utilization and select the most suitable test techniques.
  • Proper scripting experience (C#, Java).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Methodical and well-organized work approach.
  • A drive to achieve results within project timelines, fostering the same commitment in others.
  • A blend of meticulousness and technical prowess.
