Job Requirements


  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspond ence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.



  • Performs janitorial duties as required. (ie. sweeping, mopping, clean drinking fountains, eye wash stands daily, disinfects.)
  • Transports and empties trash containers as required. (ie. trash containers in lunch room twice daily, production trash, etc.)
  •  Collect and dispose of refuse in the proper container.
  • Retrieves cleaning equipment from storage area.
  • Operates cleaning equipment as required (ie. broom electric sweeper, mop, dumpster, etc.)
  • Operates material handling equipment as required. (ie. carts, lifting devices)
  • Orders and dispenses janitorial  supplies as necessary.
  • Maintains rest rooms clean and orderly. (ie. clean basins, urinal, toilets, and showers daily)
  • Replenishes rest room supplies as required.
  •  Performs  general  clean up and painting.  (ie raking  or sweeping  leaves  and other debris outside.) 
  •  Completes required reporting on a daily basis.
  • Performs work of an equal or lower classification as needed.
  • Keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly.
  • Uses safe working practices and reports all hazardous conditions.
  •  Keeps supervisor informed of material, process and equipment needs and problems.
  •  Performs other related duties as required
