Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Technician Lead to oversee and coordinate the maintenance operations within our manufacturing and distribution facility. This critical role ensures the seamless operation of all equipment and systems, leading a team of maintenance technicians to deliver high-quality maintenance services. The Maintenance Technician Lead will be responsible for maintaining equipment reliability, implementing preventive maintenance programs, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
- Leadership and Supervision: Lead, mentor, and schedule a team of maintenance technicians. Provide training and support to ensure high performance and adherence to safety and operational standards.
- Maintenance Oversight: Oversee the maintenance and repair of all manufacturing and distribution equipment, including production machinery, conveyor systems, HVAC systems, electrical systems, and plumbing.
- Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend equipment life. Monitor the effectiveness of preventive maintenance programs and adjust as necessary.
- Troubleshooting and Repairs: Perform advanced troubleshooting and repairs on complex mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems. Quickly diagnose and resolve equipment failures to minimize production disruptions.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations, environmental guidelines, and company policies. Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments to promote a safe working environment.
- Inventory Management: Manage the inventory of maintenance supplies and spare parts. Coordinate with suppliers to procure necessary parts and materials while managing maintenance budgets effectively.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance. Prepare reports on maintenance operations, highlighting key metrics and areas for improvement.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, reduce maintenance costs, and increase equipment reliability. Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the maintenance team.
- Purchase Order Management: Review and process purchase orders (POs) to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies. Coordinate with suppliers to confirm order details, delivery schedules, and any changes to the PO. Maintain records of POs and track order status to ensure timely fulfillment.
- Invoice Processing: Verify and match invoices with corresponding purchase orders and receipts. Resolve discrepancies between invoices and POs or receipts, and facilitate prompt resolution with vendors. Process approved invoices for payment in accordance with company procedures and ensure accurate documentation.
- Record Keeping: Maintain organized and accurate records of all purchase orders, invoices, and related correspondence. Ensure documentation is readily accessible for audits and financial reporting.
Skills and Minimum Experience Required
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical degree or certification in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role. Experience in a manufacturing and distribution environment is highly desirable.
- Programming Skills: PLCs or Building Controls experience.
- Skills: Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. Proficiency in reading technical blueprints and manuals. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., HVAC, electrical) are a plus.
