Retail Forecast Manager Job

About this Role:

The Retail Forecast Manager lights the way through cross functional collaboration with Demand Planning, Sales, Portfolio, and Finance in order to coordinate and oversee the development of product forecasts for assigned assortments. This position is responsible for driving continuous improvement in forecasting accuracy and process to positively impact stock-outs, on shelf availability, and sales and margin. The successful candidate will have the highest level of data analysis and problem-solving skills and be versed in best practice demand forecasting methods.

How you will contribute:

  • Gather data from a variety of sources including sales channel partners, supply chain partners, historical sales, POS data, competitive intelligence, sales analytics data, industry data, and trends analyses. Assess, interpret, and analyze the data in development of a supportable demand forecast for use in production and procurement requirements and financial planning. Analytic skills must include the ability to anticipate likely demand patterns with a demonstration of strong business intuition. Organize forecast sign-off for program/sales owners (25%)
  • Customer Support & Managing Internal Relationships – Work cross-functionally across the matrix to understand needs of internal customers.  Incorporate feedback from these stakeholders into replenishment strategies. Collaboratively plan for promotions, advertisements, and new product introductions. Work cross-functionally to resolve product availability issues. Work with Supply Chain, Product, Portfolio, and other company support functions to create and maintain effective communication to meet strategic plans and KPIs (20%)
  • Create and maintain a sustainable process for utilizing electrical distributor point of sale data and other industry 3rd party supplied data as a leading indicators and inputs into forecasting process (20%)
  • Enable management to make informed, data-based decisions by providing proactive analyses of sales data across and within channels, regions, and customers to identify trends and opportunities for profitable sales and margin growth. Establish method for tracking effectiveness of actions implemented (25%)
  • Monthly KPI reporting on select Portfolio programs and forecast accuracy (10%)

Qualified Applicants will have:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Proven understanding of forecast methodologies. Must be very organized and possess excellent time management skills
  • Exceptional data mining, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to perform in-depth data analysis and present insights in a clear manner
  • Strong customer service focus with strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel and Access
  • Ability to lead cross functional teams to successful goal completion
  • Strong project management and time management skills
