The ideal candidate will have a broad base of experience designing and creating flexible test infrastructures and processes for white-, grey-, and black-box testing of embedded control products, and working with firmware, hardware, and mobile application development and teams to build high-quality and high-reliability solutions. Prior experience working with commercial automation systems (e.g. lighting control, building management, industrial control) or consumer electronics (e.g. home automation, security, sensors, PC peripherals) is highly desirable.

* Design a scalable architecture to support build automation, static analysis, and manual and automated testing of microcontroller-based lighting automation and IoT control products at the unit and system levels
* Coordinate with the Solutions SQA team to develop processes and tools which ensure the seamless transition of products from system testing to solution (system of systems) testing.
* Act as subject matter expert and thought leader on test tools, test driven development, build automation, and field diagnostics design
* Document the test system architecture, specifications, and processes
* Develop standard work and templates for test plans and technical specifications to be used by development engineers and QA team
* Clearly communicate test system architecture design, performance constraints and trade-offs to other team members and management, playing an advisory role as a subject matter expert to ensure that optimal design decisions are made
* Develop and utilize deep understanding of internal and external systems which will interface with new products to develop interoperability, integration, and validation test plans in coordination with the design and test engineers
* Support cyber security analysis and testing initiatives
* Mentor junior team members on technical and professional subjects to strengthen their capabilities and those of the overall team

* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (EE), Computer Engineering (CE), or equivalent
* 7+ years of experience
* Proficiency working with Python or similar scripting language
* Experience in quality systems engineering and design of build and test automation solutions for microcontroller-based products.
* Experience with wired network devices and accumulators (gateways), M2M protocols and industrial control networks (RS-485, Ethernet, etc.)
* Experience with wireless networks & protocols (Wi-Fi, ZigBee, Bluetooth, BLE, proprietary)
* C programming experience with RTOS desired
* Experience working with cloud service providers (Azure and/or AWS) desired
* Demonstrated ability to devise novel technical solutions, lateral thinking (applying known solutions to new problems in related fields), willingness to challenge existing practice (technical, testing, manufacturing), willingness to add new functionality to existing framework or to build entirely new solutions when necessary.
* Comfortable working on cross functional teams within all levels of the organization
* Willingness to roll up sleeves and drive things to completion
