Job Summary & Location

 

The primary function of this position is to develop firmware for a broad portfolio of new and existing embedded lighting controls and intelligent LED driver products, and work with manufacturing to bring these products to market.

 

This hybrid position is based in Decatur, GA.

Primary Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for modifying existing firmware and developing new firmware for lighting control and LED driver products.
  • Responsible for creating firmware specifications and design documentation.
  • Write unit tests and test automation scripts, collaborate with quality assurance department on new test automation functionality.
  • Actively participate in cross-functional design teams to deliver new or redesigned products.
  • Responsible for evaluating and making design recommendations regarding new product concepts and potential improvements to existing products.
  • Responsible for evaluating and making recommendations regarding new electronic components and technologies that have the potential to be implemented into new products.
  • Responsible for creating firmware specifications and design documentation.
  • Cross-functional development of firmware validation test plans.
  • Support the field service and product manufacturing group(s).
  • Project management.
  • Mentor junior team members on technical and professional subjects to strengthen their capabilities and those of the overall team.

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in Embedded C Programming, reading/following schematics, and using RTOS (Real Time Operating Systems).
  • Must work well independently and in a team environment, be detail oriented, thorough in investigation, and produce robust solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to devise novel technical solutions, lateral thinking (applying known solutions to new problems in related fields), willingness to challenge existing practice (technical, testing, manufacturing), willingness to add new functionalities to existing products or to start entire new product categories.
  • Excellent debugging skills.
  • IP research and analysis is preferred.
  • Direct experience in Lighting Controls or LED Driver development is preferred.
  • Python programming for test automation is preferred.

The range for this position is $140,200.00 to $262,400.00. Placement within this range may vary, depending on the applicant’s experience and geographic location.
