Come join us at Acuity Brands, where we expand the boundaries of lighting and building management services.  We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Warranty Specialist to be responsible for full ownership of large or complex claims, including all product safety and liability (PSL) issues. Create resolution paths which effectively balance the needs of the customer with those of the organization to ensure timely and cost effective solutions to all field concerns. This position is first and foremost a key frontline service element of Acuity, with emphasis on customer satisfaction, responsiveness, fiscal responsibility, commercial sensitivity and timeliness.

Job Responsibilities

  • Analyze escalated labor claims and provide input to front-line team. Negotiate, approve and process field labor quotes and payments for all claims over $5,000.
  • Process claim payments to customers for labor, parts and/or product provided to correct field issues.
  • Through application of Lean principles, identify opportunities to eliminate waste and improve individual productivity within various key processes.
  • Responsible for full ownership of large or complex claims. Trouble shoots field issues to provide timely and cost effective solutions. Documents all field issues to support Enterprise Risk mitigation.
  • Engage matrix partners to determine root cause of field issues and drive to resolution. Lead all root cause and corrective action activities to eliminate defects. Participate in Design FMEAs for the products under review.

Required Education: Bachelors Degree or Equivalent

Required Experience: 2 years minimum plus the education listed.

Experience working with customers, demonstrating an ability to effectively resolve customer issues.

Must be a fast learner with technical aptitude, problem solving ability, bias for action, interpersonal skills and proven track record of completing tasks.

Good interpersonal skills to communicate and negotiate effectively are also required.

Computer competence is required with good typing skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
