The Acuity Brands Internship Program is a 10–12-week experience (May – August, 40 hours/week) designed to develop high-potential candidates into leaders through hands-on experiences that connect interns’ strengths and interests with the needs of the business. 


In addition to making an impact through your participation in key projects and transformative processes, you will have an opportunity to mentor and network with leaders throughout Acuity Brands. 


It is preferred for interns to only have one or two semesters left in their degree program, so they can be considered for our Leadership Program immediately following the completion of the internship. Our Leadership Program is a full-time, entry level rotational program that allows recent graduates to explore different areas within a functional area. These experiences allow young talent to grow their skill set and network within the company while figuring out what they are passionate about early on in their careers.

What you will do:

Product managers at Atrius work cross-functionally to drive ideas from concept to execution, define and analyze success metrics, manage strategic projects, and own the product end-to-end. The Atrius suite of products and solutions monitor and control thousands of buildings, enables millions of people to discover hundreds of venues, and helps businesses manage the real world with digital precision. Atrius is backed by a multi-billion-dollar lighting and controls hardware business, we are building a suite of applications that can sense, think and act, redefining how people live, work, learn and play in buildings and spaces around the world.


As a Product Management Intern with Atrius, you will have ownership of a strategic project centered on a real business opportunity. The project will accrue to the Atrius portfolio making a lasting impact after the completion of the internship. You will work with diverse stakeholders across Atrius to understand customer needs, business opportunities, and competitive positioning to define and build new experiences. 

What you will bring:


To be a strong candidate for the Acuity Brands Internship Program, you must:


  • Be actively pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Product Design, or a related field
  • Proficiency with data analysis and communication of findings to diverse audiences

How you will stand out:


In addition to the above requirements, you will stand out if you have any of the following:


  • Relevant internship or project experience
  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Microsoft Excel
  • On-campus leadership experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven team player
  • Strong time management skills
  • Passion for making an impact on the environment and the communities where we live, work, and play
