Job Summary

 

The Category Manager for Facility Management will be a primary point of supply chain leadership for Acuity Brands In concert with the supply chain organization, this key role will be responsible for providing comprehensive sourcing leadership of the Facility Management categories such as but not limited to Construction Management, Building Maintenance, HVAC, Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing repairs, Landscaping, Snow Removal, Janitorial, Security, Uniforms, Waste Management, Fire Protection, Industrial equipment Maintenance, Security etc. and support Acuity Brands Business Segments and Operations with primary focus on cost management, strategic sourcing, and supplier relationship management

 

This key role will work closely with the global supply chain teams, segment, plant management, plant engineering, manufacturing engineering, maintenance personnel and corporate leaders in the development of strategic plans and actions, while proactively engaged in supporting projects to assure attainment of agreed upon performance 

Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

 

  • Confidently represent the organization in negotiating agreements with other organizations and contractors, establishing clear negotiation strategy, objectives, plans, and response to various negotiating tactics  
  • Supports the sourcing of new requirements.  Work with process partners to develop the scope of requirements, perform market analysis, run RF(x), lead supplier selection process, Negotiation/Contract, Implement project, and support management of supplier SLA's.
  • Engage global stakeholders to evaluate cross region opportunities, develop relationships with global peers where applicable, actively lead and/or coordinate global initiatives as required, provide consultation and direction semi-regularly across multiple regions, deliver on isolated opportunities to leverage scale on a global basis
  • Support the forecasting of costs and development of budgets.  Partner with finance and business leads to establish 12 month outlook on cost, continually improve analytics capabilities.
  • Identify, forecast, and execute on cost-out opportunities and working capital improvements utilizing a multi-year strategy to maintain a continuous flow of opportunities
  • Independently lead projects by guiding, directing and creating alignment with project stakeholders utilizing project management principles, tools and practices to manage projects within constraints, meeting agreed upon timelines and deliverables
  • Responsible for developing and driving execution of category management strategies for the achievement of long-term goals and short-term business plans
  • Understanding the current supply base and competitors within the category as well as market trends, and technical and commercial elements to formulate strategies and tactics that derive value from a range of commodities within the assigned category.
  • Works on personal development to further the skillsets and capabilities of self, peers, and process partners.        

Skills and Minimum Experience Required

 

  • Bachelor Degree in engineering, business or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of relevant experience           
  • Knowledge of Strategic Sourcing Process.  
  • Experience leading the strategic sourcing process with cross-functional partners            
  • Strong data analysis capabilities.       
  • General understanding and knowledge of software contracting concepts, language, and strategies.

  • Creativity & Collaborative Growth Mindset            
     

Preferred Skills and Experience

 

  • CPSM Certification is a plus     
  • Familiarity with excel, power bi, and power apps preferred      
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English

The range for this position is $93,500.00 to $210,500.00. Placement within this range may vary, depending on the applicant’s experience and geographic location.
