Position Summary & Location

 

The Sourcing Manager is instrumental in establishing and implementing our global sourcing strategy, a key driver in achieving maximum operating profit and business objectives. They leverage World-Class Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Lean methodology to extract maximum total value from our supply base.

 

The Sourcing Manager collaborates cross-functionally, e.g., engineering, marketing, national accounts, customer care, manufacturing facilities, material control, post-sales service, and ASO. They also lead our raw material sourcing for aluminum sheets and circles across multiple manufacturing facilities and suppliers, making a significant global impact.

 

This remote role is U.S. based. 

Primary Responsibilities

 

  • Develop and drive the execution of long-term strategic sourcing and quality assurance strategies, objectives, and financial goals to provide the business with a continuous supply of acceptable material at a competitive-plus cost to satisfy the facility's production plan.
  • Negotiate and oversee the process for entering into sourcing-related business agreements.
  • Develop vendor management strategies to select and foster key supplier relationships to achieve business outcomes.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate an educated opinion on current and future market conditions relative to price availability, "best in class" suppliers, and new technology to ensure continuity of supply and informed customers.
  • Identify and develop alternate sources of supply to create competitive tension amongst suppliers.
  • Create and execute RFP or SSI to negotiate the best price and terms.
  • Establish standard costs for purchased material and track compliance.
  • Research and identify alternate materials or design of a part to reduce cost or improve availability
  • Identify, select, and consolidate sources of supply to best support Acuity Supply Chain strategy and objectives.
  • Facilitate the Supply to Consume process.  
  • Increase manufacturer participation in Acuity SLCs and improve supplier compliance with inventory metrics.
  • Help stabilize the production schedule, support the Kanban process, and reduce costs associated with ordering and expediting material.

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Engineering.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Excellent organizational, data collection, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced professional environment.
  • Results & execution driven consistently delivers on commitments & stretch goals.
  • Art of negotiation, leadership, and strategic thinking.
  • Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office programs
  • Application of strategic RFP processes, supplier management, and other procurement principles. 
  • Available to travel 15% of the time.

The range for this position is $59,700.00 to $134,100.00. Placement within this range may vary, depending on the applicant’s experience and geographic location.
