Job Summary

The NPI Sourcing Manager I is responsible for sourcing components and finished goods from domestic and international suppliers, the position looks for quality, competitive pricing, and on time delivery to meet our customer’s demand.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

•Responsible for sourcing electronic, electromechanical, and mechanical components from domestic and international sources.

•Trains facility Buyer/Planners on company Kanban process to reduce material liability on the supply chain.

•Responsible for phasing out or phasing down current production components and phasing in the new product components in partnership with supply chain stakeholders.

•Facilitates execution of required actions to transport materials internationally in compliance with all trade requirements.

•Sets up inventory agreements with the supplier base using third-party logistics and distribution warehouses.

•Meets NPI sourcing KPI on deliverables related to Enterprise risk, Quality, Delivery and Cost; represents the Tactical Sourcing function in a thought leadership capacity to execute continuous improvement and corrective action plans.

•Sets up parameters in Acuity components database to sustain Kanban process, including lead times, sequencing, and other pertinent characteristics related to specific components.

•Manages spend/cost projects including identifying proper suppliers, processing, and analyzing RFPs, and negotiating pricing.

•Resolves issues with the suppliers as they arise as well as addresses concerns/changes to the product involving quality, delivery, service, and/or price as well as component engineering changes.

•Sets up sources for new product development of outsourced goods by working with the appropriate product development groups as well as researching through various methods potential suppliers for that product.

•Controls the new components implementation timeline and expedite implementation if required.

Education (minimum education required)

Bachelor of Business Administration
Bachelor of Engineering

Preferred Education (i.e. type of degree)

Master of Business Administration
Master of Engineering

Experience (minimum experience required)

•Must have bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related field. Foreign degree equivalent accepted.

•Must have 3 years of experience in buying or sourcing positions within the electronics manufacturing industry performing the following:

  • Expediting components in compliance with NAFTA regulations.
  • Selecting and sourcing diverse electronic components, and mechanical / electromechanical components.
  • Utilizing knowledge in Oracle procurement module.
  • Utilizing knowledge on Microsoft Access database and Microsoft Excel.

•Highly skilled in using Microsoft Office 365 suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.)

•Tactfulness and persuasive communication skills with ability to influence without formal authority.

•Proven ability to lead cross functional teams and working well under tight deadlines.

•Energetic, self-motivated and dynamic team A-player.

•Strong analytical and technical writing skills.
