Job Summary
The Senior Sourcing Manager will be responsible for establishing and executing the global sourcing strategy related to contract manufacturing, in order to attain maximum contribution to operating profit and business objectives. Senior Sourcing Manager will utilize World Class Manufacturing, Six Sigma and Lean methodology to obtain maximum total value from the supply base. As this role interfaces with many facets of Acuity Brands management, such as engineering, marketing, national accounts, customer care, manufacturing facilities, material control, post sales service and ASO, this person will need to be able to effectively collaborate cross-matrix relationships. This role will lead our contract manufacturing procured material and near-shoring opportunities and be responsible for ensuring supply across multiple distribution centers and factories.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
- Coordinate staff of supply chain professionals in their category management to assure that significant opportunities are being addressed to the satisfaction of our customers
- Provide our primary customers, Acuity factories and engineering, with sources who provide a continuous supply of acceptable material at a competitive-plus cost to satisfy the facility's production plan
- Develop, maintain, and communicate an educated opinion on current and future market conditions relative to price, availability, "best in class" suppliers and new technology to assure continuity of supply as well as informed customers
- Provide forecast price guidance to drive pricing accuracy, clearly communicating price fluctuations and improvements
- Maintain and communicate a current sourcing strategy, considering inputs from our customers, for each major sub-category with electronic components
- Identify opportunities to diversify supplier support geographically for optimized supply chain solutions and geopolitical risk mitigation
- Cost Containment: Identify and develop alternate sources of supply to create competitive tension amongst suppliers with driving cost reductions where applicable
- Partner with internal operations to support make/buy decisions and determine best supplier sources to support Acuity new products and strategies
- Risk Mitigation: Negotiate and obtain signed supply contracts from suppliers to help minimize Acuity liability exposure. Compile and maintain a country-of-origin record for each purchased part
- Manage Commodity Spend: Develop and communicate sourcing strategy to appropriate personnel within the company. Identify the preferred supplier parts so that new fixtures BOM's are constructed correctly
Job Requirements:
- Must have 5-7 years of experience in buying or sourcing positions, electronics experience is a plus
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in work experience
- Previous experience in negotiation of supply contracts and electronics sourcing
- Expertise in the art of negotiation, leadership, and strategic thinking
- Strong written and verbal communication as well as organizational skills
- Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office programs
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and tools
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain or Engineering
- Master’s degree is preferred

The range for this position is $74,700.00 to $139,900.00. Placement within this range may vary, depending on the applicant’s experience and geographic location.
