The Senior Human Resources Manager oversees Compensation and Benefits globally and reports to the VP of Shared Services.

Provides strategic direction and oversight for Acuity Brands compensation and benefit programs. Works with regional and country management, HR and benefits administrator to ensure programs are market-based, comply with local laws and regulations, align with company objectives and support our pay for performance principles.

  • Provide strategic and tactical oversight for compensation and benefit programs predominantly in North America and Mexico.
  • Design and maintain job bands and update market compensation by band on a regular basis.
  • Advise human resource business partners on appropriate compensation for positions throughout the organization.
  • Develop and deploy company-wide annual benefit programs.
  • Work with Corporate, regional and country management and HR to design company-wide and local short-term incentive plans (bonus and gainshare programs)
  • Ensure all country benefit programs are based on competitive practice, compliant with local laws and regulations, and have proper governance models
  • Ensure all compensation programs (salary, short and long-term incentive plans) are delivered in compliance to local laws and regulations
  • Manager of 1+ direct reports



  • BA/BS Degree required
  • 7+ years of experience in benefits and compensation.
  • Ability to think strategically regarding compensation and benefit plans
  • Broad understanding of management styles, legal, and employment issues in North America
  • Strong Business acumen and understanding of business operations with a mindset of continuous improvement
  • Proven track record of success in managing transformational change
  • Experience in successfully working in multiple organizational structures, including a matrix environment
  • Credibility to lead and influence leaders at the executive level and work collaboratively globally
  • Interpersonal relationship skills, along with a proven ability to lead others and uncompromising integrity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel approx. 20%
