Job Summary

The Sales Operations Consultant is responsible for overseeing the operational needs and requests of the defined sales channel and customers. The position will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the appropriate priorities and objectives are met by partnering with Acuity Brands matrix partners. This individual will be the 'Inside Acuity Brands go-to contact" from the customer perspective. This individual will work across the matrix to ensure we are delivering on our service metrics to assigned customer accounts to provide an exceptional customer experience. The role requires a high degree of assertiveness and awareness of how Acuity Brands operates, and the ability to translate a strong knowledge of the customer into strategic and competitive strengths for the company.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

Project Management (35%)

  • Point-of-contact for customers and sales team to support account project management needs
  • Oversee and drive SKU management related to the customer. Continually monitor new product launch plans and ensure active status of all in-store SKUs, or take action with matrix partners if status is changed
  • Provide channel-level and customer level product changes, including new products and phase-in/phase-out products. Work with Sales team and Demand Planning team to ensure seamless transition and adequate inventory planning to support the change
  • Quality incident project management - sale channel point-of-contact between the matrix and the customer when quality impacts Acuity Brands' ability to ship
  • Maintains current and accurate project tracker for all rollouts, deletions, promotions, or other customer events. Regular cadence of meeting update for cross function matrix partners, including sales, product, supply chain, and demand planning

Program Management (35%)

  • New customer account setups and maintenance in Acuity Brands systems through engaging as the primary contact between the customer and internal matrix
  • Define customer service requirements to matrix and hold Acuity Brands teams accountable to performance requirements. A deep understanding of relevant metrics and the capability to use LEAN tools to resolve issues that are preventing breakthrough results
  • Create and maintain customer profiles and program files that communicate customer needs and Acuity Brands strategy for meeting those needs to leadership, channel partners and matrix partners

Fines/Cost of Quality/Scorecard Management (20%)

  • Rebates and deductions oversight and approval or escalations for dispute 
  • Assurance to contractual compliance. Understand contractual requirements and escalate to appropriate matrix partners if not in compliance 
  • Utilize LEAN or Acuity Business System (ABS) tools to solve business problems and improve processes

Account Reporting (10%)

  • Rebates and deductions oversight and approval or escalate for dispute Point-of-Sale (POS) reporting (if available) and translation to strategy and actions.
  • Recognize demand changes and trends that require action from supply chain and demand planning as it applies to forecast or inventory on-hand

Qualified applicants will have:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in relevant discipline or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum three years of applicable work experience
  • Project management expertise: demonstrates ability to create project vision and goals, and achieves project plans in a timely and organized manner
  • Customer engagement and effective communication skills: able to engage with matrix partners and external customers efficiently to drive results
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office software, including Excel, Word, Access, and Power Point
  • Ability to travel up to 10% as needed; ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

The range for this position is $59,700.00 to $134,100.00. Placement within this range may vary, depending on the applicant’s experience and geographic location.
