Come join us at Acuity Brands, where we expand the boundaries of lighting and building management services.  We are seeking a highly motivated Production Supervisor with hands-on accomplishments in fabrication, and with experience driving improvement in a manufacturing or related environment. 

This is a First Shift position.  The core working hours are from 7:00AM to 3:30PM, Monday through Friday.  Overtime, when needed, is until 5:30PM weekdays and or 6:00AM to 2:30PM on Saturdays.
 

Responsibilities of this salaried position include: 


•    Supervises 8-20 hourly employees in a manufacturing environment. 
•    Drives safety, quality and productivity performance in accordance with ABS principles, standard work and customer requirements. 
•    Drives KPIs, QDIP and continuous improvement; conducts root cause countermeasure for misses in cycle time.
•    Determines daily manpower and work assignments for employees to adjust for fluctuations in demand. Assigns overtime and approves payroll.
•    Holds employees accountable to all plant rules, safety, quality and productivity standards, and administer counseling and discipline as needed.
•    Administers collective bargaining agreement. 
•    Trains employees in Acuity Business System.set-up, programming and operating production machinery, including CNC machines such as Amada punch and brake presses
•    Programming, set-up, and operating production machinery, including CNC machines such as Amada punch and brake presses

 


Experience Required 
•    2+ years in a manufacturing environment, preferably high volume
•    Previous supervisory experience
•    Proficiency with set-up, programming and operating production machinery, including CNC machines such as Amada punch and brake presses
•    Experience with sheet metal fabrication processes preferred
•    High degree of comfort with computer usage especially Excel
•    Able to read, write and speak English
•    Experience in problem solving, communication and conflict resolution
•    Experience with Lean principles and exposure to Kaizen and continuous improvement events is helpful


Required Education
High School diploma or equivalent


Physical Requirements
Must be able to stand 10-12 hours per day, lift, push, pull up to 40 pounds frequently. 
Must be able to see, hear and comprehend in a noisy, environment. 
Must be able to tolerate temperature ranges of 40 - 90 degrees F. 
May be assigned to work off shifts and/or weekend hours.
