Payroll Administrator Job

Job Summary

 

The Payroll Administrator is responsible for handling payroll and tax duties for US employees, including the review of employee data entry, and timecard administration. Partners with 3rd Party payroll and tax provider on resolution of issues and handles Tier 1 employee questions regarding policies and procedures, unemployment, and benefits.

 

What you will do

 

  • Accurate and timely review of employee data changes affecting pay, classification, leave status, shift status, or personal data to ensure accuracy of current information in SAP SuccessFactors
  • Uses Workforce Software for weekly review of employee timecards for any issues or missing data and follow up with employees and managers where necessary. Processing of time export into payroll system. Making suggestions for configuration changes where gaps are identified and improvements to standard work documentation.
  • Process payroll and benefit adjustments, ensuring proper backup documentation exists in line with internal control procedures.
  • Manage tax and garnishment notices that are received, coordinate with 3rd party vendor on resolution. Set up new jurisdictions, or close old SUI and SIT accounts as needed.
  • Handles Tier 1 employee questions regarding payroll, taxes, timekeeping, policies and procedures, unemployment, and benefits.
  • Manage the unemployment claims process. This entails collection of claims not completed by vendor or that require additional information and coordinate with field HR.
  • On a weekly basis update metrics data in bowling charts and pareto issues to report out at the monthly staff meeting. Drive process improvement activities where gaps are identified.

 

Your Experience

 

  • Proven ability of managing several tasks and projects at any given time. 
  • Able to assess data and provide reports on certain data.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office software products and the ability to learn new applications.
  • Must be customer serviced focused with strong verbal and written communication skills.

 

 

Your Qualifications

 

  • 3-5 years in a payroll position
  • Associate Degree, Technical Degree or equivalent
  • Fundaments of Payroll Certificate (APA) is preferred

 

Physical Requirements
 

Sedentary Work – Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking or standing is required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
