About this Team

This team works to develop, audit, and improve the Acuity Brands supply chain organization by evaluating supplier processes to identify new sources of material/services, resolve supplier's nonconforming material issues, introduce FMEA's, control plans, problem solving tools and implement ABS (Acuity Business Systems) Lean tools. These audits will provide potential supplier approval to Acuity Sourcing and will also resolve dual sourcing, cost reductions, and material or supply quality issues. Implementation and integration of the Quality Management Systems, Lean Six Sigma and ABS tools provides an environment for high quality material/services and Lean material flow to Acuity Brands.

Be a part of a team that promotes continuous improvement through the establishment of KPIs, proactive process control plans and paynter tracking systems between Acuity and our Suppliers. These metrics include, but are not limited to, material quality, root-cause & countermeasure evaluation, cost reduction, supplier quality cost recovery, delivery performance, warranty claims reduction and overall supplier rating improvement. 

How you will contribute:

The position is responsible for Supplier Development Management and Quality Management Systems to ensure Acuity Brands supply chain teams provide the highest quality material and services without enterprise risk at the lowest possible cost. Additionally, this role provides leadership to the supply chain organization within a systematic structure to assess, qualify, measure, analyze, select, on-board, conflict management, escalation resolution and exit suppliers based on performance and company's needs.

About this Location

This team is largely based in our headquarter office, located in Conyers, GA. This location is office to a wide set of our cross functional teams, allowing collaboration for driving results. Our office is also within 30 minutes of the Atlanta area, making it ideal for many city commuters. Due to the required travel of this team, it is ideal to be based in Conyers, but consideration can be given to a base at an Acuity location in the United States. However, access to a major airport is required.

Qualified Applicants will have:
  • Bachelor's degree in a business or engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Process Manufacturing)
  • Subject matter expert level knowledge and experience in finished goods, electronics components, castings, plastic injection molding, metal fabrication and assembly processes
  • Trainer level knowledge and ability to interpret quality tools such as FMEA, PQCT (Product Quality Control Plans), APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning), PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), Six Sigma Methodology, Process Capability studies, GR&R (Gauge Repeatability & Reliability), GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerance)
  • Ability to perform accurate, in-depth quality system and process assessments to identify gaps
  • Proven experience in leading cross functional teams and working well under tight deadlines
  • Ability to clearly communicate audit findings, results and action plans/schedules to top management
  • Tactfulness and persuasive communication skills with ability to influence without formal authority
  • Strong analytical and technical writing skills
  • Project management skills with analytical and technical writing skills
  • Highly skilled in using Microsoft Office 365 suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, Sharepoint, etc.)
  • Drive to develop, implement and maintain standardized global supplier development process documentation
  • At least three years of successful experience as supplier development manager
  • Detailed on-site GEMBA level supplier auditing in finished goods, electronics components, castings, plastic injection molding, metal fabrication and assembly processes 
  • At least three years with primary responsibility for implementing and driving Lean Six Sigma principles to suppliers and manufacturers of electronics components and materials
  • Lean certifications preferred
