Job Summary

Acuity Brands Lighting is seeking a Manager, Brand and Product Marketing. The ideal candidate is well versed and passionate about marketing and an experienced brand and product ambassador. This role requires an individual that can lead in the transformation from product marketing to brand marketing and understands marketing in an organization that is built on a house of brands.
The Marketing Brand Manager is responsible for the development of integrated marketing plans that position the Lithonia Lighting Commercial Indoor brand as a leader in the industry. The best candidate will be able to apply marketing strategies to promote a brand’s value proposition and introduce new product innovations into the marketplace that drive mindshare to market share.  

Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: creating brand awareness campaigns, developing product specific content for new product launches and sustaining product updates and creating sales enablement tools to help drive revenue growth of the products and solutions. Brand marketers work directly with product portfolio managers and engineering teams and are collaborators with the broader marketing organization. This individual is the subject matter expert for all marketing activities related to the brand.
Break-down of core responsibilities:
(30%) – Own strategy and execution of Brand/Product Category Marketing Plan 
•    Outside of new product introductions you will own creation of an annual marketing plan for your category or brand, which will include thought leadership, social media, paid advertising, demand generation campaigns, etc. You will own the strategy and vision of the marketing plan and messaging, write copy and project manage the execution.
•    Coordinate pieces of your marketing plan with training, events, PR, website, channel, and customer marketing teams
•    Occasionally participate or gather voice of customer, voice of sales insights
•    Sustaining marketing efforts: create new web content, identify and fix web or product data errors, coordinate and/or support events, trainings, and sales enablement efforts for sales channels
•    Support and possibly lead strategic priority initiatives for the business

(60%) -- Own the marketing plans & messaging for new product introductions and product updates.
•    Product Launch Communications plans – direct PM partner for PDS, create messaging maps for complete marketing plan with other marketing partners, execute tactics
•    Sustaining product marketing needs: enter new/update product marketing data, update collateral, work with matrix partners to update their materials (flipbooks, catalogs, campaign content, counter loops, merchandise), etc.
•    Communicate and coordinate with Sales teams to bring back this knowledge to the team for better messaging and target audience understanding
(10%) – Team Productivity and Marketing SME
•    Improve, maintain, or create new processes and standard work to ensure productivity for launch communications, marketing project tracking, root-cause-countermeasure marketing metrics for team and business
•    Attend business unit and matrix partner collaboration and operations meetings: participate, report-out, take new actions/projects
•    Utilize marketing best practices in marketing projects

Education (minimum education required)

Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing

Experience (minimum experience required)

• Proven success in time management and an ability to deliver results on multiple projects.
• Superior oral and written communication skills with attention to detail and superior follow-through.
• 3-5 years of marketing and/or sales experience with an emphasis on B2B marketing and demand generation.
