About this Position

The Human Resources Business Partner is a strategic business partner responsible for providing thought partnership and guidance to our Technology businesses. Responsibilities will include being a strategic thought partner to our CTO and his leadership team, creating and driving a talent strategy for Acuity Technology, developing and retaining our technology talent, succession planning and development, coaching and providing guidance, driving change management, and successfully partner with acquisitions, and integrations as needed. The Human Resources Business Partner role will act as an individual contributor, reporting to the Corporate Functions and Intelligent Spaces HR Vice President.

How you will contribute:

  • Assist in developing a practical and business-focused HR strategy that aligns with the overall Technology business units’ plan
  • Oversee daily HR operations within the business working closely with the HR COEs
  • Track and measure HR performance goals to identify areas for improvement and develop and implement plans to close any gaps
  • Facilitate and support leadership pipeline discussion (gap analysis, succession planning, leadership development and Individual Development Plans)
  • Work with the technology team to create a defined talent strategy, can include internal development, external recruitment strategies, university partnerships and geographic focus areas.
  • Partner with the recruitment RPO to help drive the recruitment process, engagement of hiring manager and overall process experience for the business and candidate
  • Partner with technology team to define and create the desired organizational culture. Assist with facilitation and driving action plans

  • Partner with COEs to effectively provide business context as the COE designs, develops and implements programs
  • Provide HR consulting services to employees and managers. Act as a thought partner to business unit leader(s), and coach to supervisors
  • Engage and help drive the HR transformation, being a change champion for the HR team and business to help drive the change successfully
  • Prepare and update data for employment related changes, including hiring, termination, pay, position, and supervisor changes in the system
  • Interact and communicate with associated operating departments as necessary to produce cohesive efforts towards accomplishing Company goals. Reinforce an environment of teamwork and collaboration

Qualified Applicants will have:

  • 5-7 years experience as a HRBP to a business unit, specifically at a Technology, start up, IoT, SaaS, type of organization.
  • Not essential but preferred:  experience in 1-2 other HR disciplines like talent acquisition, leadership development or compensation.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required
  • Results and process oriented; continuous improvement mindset
  • Preferable coming from a fast-paced, high growth, and innovative firm/company; knows what good HR delivery and partnering looks like
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple competing priorities.
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and execute on stimulating projects.
  • Experience with advancing the EVP for Technology through a compelling total rewards strategy and framework

Additional Qualifications


  • Strong verbal and written communications, and the ability to adapt the communication to the audience and positively influence others.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), Microsoft Teams and SuccessFactors
  • Travel-Domestic & International potential up to 25% 
  • Pragmatic, energetic, motivated by building and developing new solutions, and inspiring others
  • Coaching and influence skills
