Training Content Manager - Building Automation Job

About this Team

Reporting to the Technical Support & Training Director, and in collaboration with the Technical Support team, European Training Team, Research & Development team and Product Management team, the selected applicant will be responsible for the creation and management of our global training content.

How you will contribute:

• Own and manage the full training curriculum for the Distech Controls solutions
• Manage the required modifications to the training content in collaboration with our product managers, technical trainers and technical support agents
• Be part of the project meetings and NPI meetings to gather information about upcoming products to be able to manage the training updates accordingly
• Ensuring that trainers and technical support agents are kept to date with the upcoming new products and solutions by creating an environment to test new training solutions
• Manage the online learning portal and the full training catalog so that content is always up to date with the product releases
• Provide training to our customer base to keep up to date with the training requirements and test the new trainings (Frequency to be defined)
• Manage the equipment, the work stations and software that is required to provide the training.
• Be proactive by improving the available tools and the internal processes within the department.
• Ensure the training facilities are fully equipped for training sessions at least once every two months.
• Develop and update new content for the training courses.
• Take part in the development of the products by providing feedback gained from the customer on their requirements as it pertains to our product’s functionality.
• Communicate suggestions for changes/modifications to the development team as per our ISO procedures and policies that are in place.
• Stay up to date with new technologies and products in the field related to the Distech controls product line.

Qualified Applicants will have:


• Practical Training/Trainer Qualifications required
• University degree or Technical Certificate in HVAC/Controls or any other relevant experience in technical training.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in one or more of the following fields:
o Technical Training
o Technical Writing
o HVAC Systems
o Niagara platforms
o Building Automation
o Instrumentation and Controls
o Information Systems and Programming
o Process Control
• Demonstrates excellent communication skills
• Structured and well organized
• Capable of giving presentations in front of large crowds
• Courteous with a positive attitude
• Proactive, autonomous and demonstrates Leadership
• Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities
• Resourceful and capable of handling multiple simultaneous tasks
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Valid passport for travelling


• Programming and configuration of computer networks or IT systems.


• Knowledge of the BACnet, Echelon LonWorks, Modbus, KNX, or other Control Systems Communication protocols.
• Tridium Niagara Certified
• Knowledge of Access Control, CCTV and Lighting Systems.
• Ability to speak one of the following languages:
o French
o Spanish
o Cantonese
o Dutch
o Hindu
o Japanese
o Arabic
