Job Summary

We are currently looking for a technician to join the Production Technology Group (PTG), which implements testing solutions for Distech Controls' manufacturing operations. Although the position is based in Brossard, you will collaborate with team members located at our two production sites (Brossard and Lyon, France).

 

Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

 

  • Participate in various projects to improve Automated Test Equipment (ATE): protection circuits, microcontroller interface boards, etc.
  • Perform verification and validation tests of new ATEs.
  • Produce and update documentation associated with ATEs, such as electrical schematics, parts lists, etc.
  • Develop and document annual validation/calibration methods for ATEs.
  • Transfer knowledge to technicians and production operators during the introduction of new ATEs or test software.
  • Manage second-level troubleshooting in production (complex ATE investigations and repairs).
  • Perform final configuration of production computers (printer configuration, test software installation).
  • Analyze weekly performance indicators associated with ATEs and make appropriate corrections with the help of production technicians.
  • Assemble and debug electronic boards used in ATEs.
  • Provide support for the development and fine-tuning of test software on various platforms (TestStand, LabView, Gfx, Nvision, and embedded testing software).
  • Manage the purchase of components used by the team and maintain inventory.
  • Provide technical support for the implementation of aging tests by the quality group.
  • Perform any other tasks related to the continuous improvement of the production test infrastructure and the optimization of department processes.

Skills and Minimum Experience Required

  • Do you have a minimum of 3 years of experience as an electronics technician?
  • Training in electronics (analog and digital).
  • Ability to debug electronic boards and test benches.
  • Strong familiarity with computers (Windows configuration, network cards, software installations).
  • Good organization, rigor, and ability to manage priorities.
  • Proficiency in French and English - written and spoken.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience with the TestStand test sequencer (from National Instruments).
  • Understanding of the fundamental principles of electronic circuits and electronic production.
  • Experience in automating production tests of electronic boards and products.
  • Knowledge of the Linux operating system.
