About this Team

Reporting to the Hardware Design Manager, the Hardware Designer is responsible for assisting the hardware design team for the company's products. Under the supervision of the Hardware Design Team Leader team leader, his main task is to create printed circuit boards within a well-defined framework of product development process. The products will have to be developed according to the current electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and electrical safety standards. He will also have to ensure the transition to production and documentation (ECO, TEI) when required. He/she will support the evolution of products throughout their useful life and will also perform, upon request, any other other related tasks that may fall under this job. In addition, he/she will support the production engineering team in the production engineering team for the creation of test benches and ensure that they are functional. He also participates in the standardization of product releases in production (process, documentation, methods, etc.) and provides ad hoc support to production engineering. This person is proactive, autonomous and has demonstrated team spirit in the past. His professionalism and dedication contribute to the success of projects and the quality of relations with 
everyone. The Hardware Design Engineer actively participates in the design of the company's products while 
while respecting deadlines, costs and product quality.
The ideal candidate has a degree in electrical engineering and experience in the field of 
analog and digital circuit board and test bench design.

How you will contribute:

Hardware design engineering
- Search for electronic components and purchase the first parts for testing.
- Search for alternative electronic components for a better management of the supply chain. 
- Participate in the assembly of partial modules for concept validation.
- PCB design, analysis and cost reduction proposal (DFM).
- Assist PCB manufacturers in the production of the electronic board.
- Follow the basic rules of PCB design/production.
- Validate prototypes.
- Develop test procedures in collaboration with the production team. 
- Design test bench drawings and specifications.
- Train the production engineering team during product releases.

Production Support / Documentation
- Assist the production engineering team to solve urgent technical problems (test benches, etc).

Qualified Applicants will have:

- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (electronics option) 
- Minimum 5 years of independent experience in printed circuit board and test bench design.
- Experience in digital and analog circuit design, electromagnetic compatibility
- Knowledge of CAD software for electronic board design
- Structured, methodical and organized in his work
- Ability to analyze and synthesize information
- Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Respectful
- Autonomy, leadership and initiative

- English and French read, written and spoken
- Expertise in CE, UL, CSA standards, etc.

- Knowledge of HVAC and building control
- Knowledge of LonWorks and/or BACnet and/or Modbus protocols
- Knowledge of Linux for embedded systems (driver/low level configuration)
