Job Summary

Join our team! We are looking for a Back-End developer who has an excellent technical foundation in back-end technologies such as .NET to be part of the Cloud team.
You will take part in Distech Controls’ constant innovation to create and maintain the best products on the market. You will be involved in innovative projects such as the development of web/cloud applications and mobile building management applications.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
Development
- Develop the back-end functionalities (C#) of a web application (SaaS)
- Use various communication methods such as REST and WebSockets
- Leverage your creativity to solve complex problems
- Design and optimize software architecture by following best practices of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Ensure code quality, diagnose and resolve production incidents, while managing microservices interconnection and orchestration via Kubernetes
- Contribute to the continuous integration and deployment of applications (CI/CD, GitOps)
- Actively participate in the exploration and research phases for product design
Team
- Contribute to the design and execution of features using the Shape-Up methodology.
- Actively participate in team meetings and task planning.
- Collaborate closely with other developers within the team and across teams to ensure requirements are met during development.
- Take part in the code review process during development (Pull Requests).
Skills and Minimum Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree in software engineering/computer engineering/computer science or equivalent
- Proficiency in C#, .NET, and ASP.NET Core
- Expertise in backend system development, including REST APIs
- Strong knowledge of Git
- Proficiency in Docker/Containers and Kubernetes
- Structured, methodical and organized in their work
- Developed analytical and synthesis skills
- Great team spirit and excellent interpersonal skills
- Autonomy, leadership and initiative
- Ability to work in-office (hybrid) at the Distech Controls office in Brossard
- Bilingual French and English: To serve clients and external service providers across Canada and USA
Preferred Skills and Experience
Important
- Proficiency in cloud technologies, preferably Microsoft Azure
- Expertise in Microsoft Azure DevOps environment, including Pipelines
- Strong knowledge of relational databases
- Experience in microservices and event-driven architecture
- Experience with EF Core
- Knowledge of design patterns for cloud-native applications
- Ability to take ownership of a feature and break it down into tasks
- Ensure code quality through unit, functional, and end-to-end testing
- Maintain product quality by tracking and resolving bugs

- Experience with .NET Aspire
- Experience with NoSQL databases (CosmosDB)
- Experience with gRPC
