Distech Controls designs and manufactures products of control in the field of heating, ventilation and air conditioning, as well as in lighting and building access management. These solutions are essential to the proper operation of the buildings and the health and well-being of its occupants. Among its customers and end users, Distech Controls counts hospitals, health clinics, banks, data centers and other critical buildings. The commercial activities of Distech Controls being therefore deemed essential, the company continues normal operations in order to ensure the health and well-being of the population.

Under the supervision of the Vice-President Operations, the logistics coordinator is responsible for all activities related to merchandise transportation, ensuring a service of quality to customers and suppliers. Within his/her role, the coordinator manages all facets of logistics, from carrier negotiation, cost optimization, shipments coordination, billing and shipping discrepancies resolution to routing management. Continuous improvement of quality and cost is a key objective.

What will you do?

  • Negotiate the best rates with relevant transportation companies.
  • Define and maintain routing guides, limiting unplanned activities requests.
  • Provide shipping quote, as requested.
  • Support the customer service team in resolving issues with carriers (cancelled orders, damaged goods, delayed deliveries, etc)
  • Coordinate special shipments (tradeshow, trainings, etc)
  • Validate and approve freight and logistics invoices. Investigate and resolve any discrepancy.
  • Participate in the definition and implementation of new logistics processes within the organization.
  • Interact and work with cross-functional teams (sales, customer service, technical support, purchasing, planning, engineering)
  • Evaluate carriers and logistics providers performance on an annual basis, using corporate policies and procedures.
  • Implement, monitor and analyze key performance indicators to reach corporative objectives.

Qualifications

  • Certificate in logistics and supply chain management, or relevant experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of LTL and air transportation operations to create efficient and dynamic routing guides.
  • Knowledge of transportation industry, including terminology and general knowledge of manufacturing industries.
  • Ability to lift charges up to 25 kg (55 lbs) - preferred
  • Bilingual (English, French)
  • Knowledge of Import/Export
