Distech Controls designs and manufactures products of control in the field of heating, ventilation and air conditioning, as well as in lighting and building access management. These solutions are essential to the proper operation of the buildings and the health and well-being of its occupants. Among its customers and end users, Distech Controls counts hospitals, health clinics, banks, data centers and other critical buildings. The commercial activities of Distech Controls being therefore deemed essential, the company continues normal operations in order to ensure the health and well-being of the population.

What will you do?

We are presently recruiting for an Inside Sales- Field Devices associate who will be responsible for sales and collateral development of field device products and solutions to our Authorized System Integrators and Distributors, through our various Distributor channels. You will work in collaboration with the sales, customer service, product management teams.

Main Duties

• Meet and exceed quarterly Field Device product sales targets;
• Contact existing customers to promote Distech Controls’ Field Device offer;
• Develop, manage a consistent pipeline of qualified opportunities;
• Maintains accurate tracking of leads, opportunities and sales utilizing the CRM;
• Ensure follow up by cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with existing and new customers to maintain a high level of satisfaction with Distech Controls’ products and services;
• Maintain gross margin targets on field device products sold;
• Work with Regional Sales Managers and Product Management to identify needs, industry trends, market perception, price and delivery structures necessary to remain a competitive player in the field device products market;
• Develop strategies to improve customer satisfaction through the delivery of innovative solutions and services;
• Use and promote Distech Controls SmartStore to market and manage field device products and solutions offering.
 
Field Devices products and solutions include but are not limited to: Valves, Actuators, Discrete Thermostats, Discrete Sensors (Temperature, humidity, pressure, current, voltage, etc…), Variable Frequency Drives, Transformers, Power Supplies, Relays, Control Dampers, Control Panels, Access Control and CCTV products, Infrastructure products, Wire and Cable, Energy Metering and Monitoring solutions and miscellaneous field device products and solutions.
 
Field device products and solutions do not include: ECx-STAT(s), ECx-Light, EC-Net Security, EC-NetAX, ECB, ECL, ECC, ECP and ECY controllers, EC-Smart-Vue, EC-Sensors, ECW-Sensors, Distech Controls Software, and EC-Net EnerVue.

Qualified Applicants will have:

• Hold a Collegial Degree in Mechanical Building Systems or equivalent ;

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in sales, quotations or estimations of products and services (HVAC and/or electrical products) OR  2 years of relevant experience in building automation or Industrial automation

• Excellent communication skills 

• Strong organizational skills and problem solving ability

• Experienced in B2B sales; cold calling 

• Self-driven and persistent with ability to cross-sell and up-sell to existing customers

• Must be fluent (spoken and written) in English.
• Must be fluent (spoken and written) in French.
