Job Summary

We are seeking an Electronic Components Specialist to join our Product Lifecycle Engineering team and ensure the reliability, performance, and sustainability of components integrated into our innovative building management products. By qualifying components, managing obsolescence, and anticipating technological needs, you will play a critical role in optimizing our products and enhancing customer satisfaction.

Qualify electronic components through testing, simulations, and analyses to ensure compliance with technical and regulatory standards.
Conduct technological scouting to anticipate future needs and validate new sourcing opportunities.
Manage component obsolescence by proposing alternative solutions and optimizing component reuse.
Maintain up-to-date technical data to enhance performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

  • Collaborate with the test team and R&D department to identify and implement corrective actions on products, ensuring that technical specifications and product performance are met.
  • Ensure component qualification by establishing tailored qualification plans specific to our equipment to guarantee their reliability.
  • Conduct technical expertise and in-depth analyses in case of issues related to components.
  • Work closely with R&D and supply teams to maintain technological monitoring and proactively manage obsolescence.
  • Contribute to database management by regularly updating component databases, considering obsolescence risks.

Skills and Minimum Experience Required

  • Proficiency in analog and digital electronic systems, circuit diagrams, and electronic components.
  • Experience of 2 to 5 years in a similar position.
  • Ideally: Bachelor’s degree with a specialization in electronics, electrical engineering, or microelectronics.
  • Knowledge of the component market and manufacturers.
  • Experience using equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and soldering irons.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a collaborative team-oriented mindset.
  • Autonomy, rigor, open-mindedness, strong interpersonal skills, analytical mindset, and teamwork ability.
  • Bilingual French and English: To serve clients and external service providers across Canada and USA.
