What will be your role?                

We are presently recruiting for a Sales Support Engineer who will work in collaboration with the Sales team, Technical Support team, Research & Development team and European Sales Support Team

You will expand relationships with customers by directing and supporting collaborative sales efforts to grow our product lines. You will close on qualified opportunities referred by the Regional Sales Manager, or other sales personnel, while actively collaborating with these team members.

Reporting to the Director of Sales UK & Ireland with a dotted reporting line to the European Sales Support Director, you will be responsible for achieving sales quota with the Regional Sales Managers in the assigned country, and for supporting the product-lines success by providing sales support to customers.



What will you do?

  • Supports the success of the sales organization, including Sales Director, Regional Sales Managers or other sales personnel.
  • Create and deliver CPD accredited seminars to specifying engineers and system integrators.
  • Supports the success of the product lines by developing sales, marketing and communication plans working with channel Partners, Sales Management, Regional Sales Managers and Business Development Managers, to drive program results.
  • Provide sales support workshops to new or existing customers focusing on the new product lines and the overall product offering.
  • Works with sales support team to create and deliver product line specifications to market specifiers and influencers, in order to enhance Company’s product cross-sell opportunities with End Users and building owners.
  • Works to specify, design, engineer and price product solutions.
  • In collaboration with the Marketing team, creates and delivers impactful collateral and presentations to clearly demonstrate the value proposition of the products.
  • In cooperation with Sales and Marketing teams, leads efforts in market to conduct company sponsored road show seminars for influencers and End Users that builds the company’s market presence, generates leads and closes business.
  • Establishes productive, professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts.
  • Coordinates the customer involvement of other company personnel when needed, including support resources, team members, and management.
  • Proactively assess, clarify, and validate customer needs for assigned product lines on an ongoing basis.  Identify product enhancement opportunities and forward to Product Management.
  • Creates Case Studies to formally document Customer success stories.
  • Keep up to date with new technologies and products in the field related to the Distech controls product line and industry.


Which candidate profile are we looking for?

  • Proficient in English communication skills, bilingualism (French, German) is an asset.
  • University or College degree from an accredited institution or equivalent with relevant experience in technical support, HVAC or controls.
  • Knowledge in HVAC and Building Automation Systems (BAS).
  • Knowledge of BACnet, LonWorks, Modbus, KNX communication protocols.
  • Knowledge of control system estimating, design, programming and engineering, specifically BACnet, Niagara Framework and LonWorks.
  • Development of web based BAS graphical user interfaces.
  • Knowledge in IT technologies – HTML, OPC, SNMP, SOAP, and/or network management is an asset.
  • Relevant experience in the installation of Building Automation System (BAS).
  • Strongly oriented towards customer service satisfaction
  • Exceptional written, oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle various priorities.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment and under tight deadlines.


Job Requirements and Working Conditions

  • This position requires travel.  The employee must hold a valid driver’s license and a valid passport.
  • All prospective employees must pass a background check.
  • This position requires the employee to maintain a home based office in the UK.
