Job Summary

We are looking for a Business Development Manager (BDM), focused on the Data Center vertical market, who will be responsible for leading the company’s efforts to expand relationships with large, multi-location customers.  The BDM is responsible for owning and developing Distech’s business development efforts for Data Center and to find new opportunities with existing customers and secure new accounts.  The BDM will drive Distech with consulting engineers and other influencers within the HC selling ecosystem to become the preferred, sole sourced solution provider.

The BDM represents the entire range of company products and services to customers, while leading the business development effort with new customer prospects.

The BDM focuses on the developing relationships at high levels in the targeted customers organization to facilitate sales of Distech solutions and offerings.  The BDM reports to the Director of Business Development.
 

Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

  • Create and own the data center vertical market GTM strategy.
  • Be responsible for global expansion of data center customers.
  • Position ISG as the preferred solutions provider, for software, hardware and services with new data center clients and with data center influencers, such as engineering and consulting firms.
  • Get the ISG solutions portfolio specified with engineering/consulting firms.
  • Identify and pursue quality leads that meet our ideal customer profile for enterprise data centers.
  • Be the data center subject matter expert for the ISG business (Distech, Atrius).

 

Accountabilities and Performance Measures

  • Achieve assigned metrics and quotas that lead to selling wins in the Data Center market.
  • Meets assigned expectations for profitability.
  • Achieves strategic customer objectives defined by company management.
  • Completes strategic customer account plans that meet company standards.
  • Maintains high customer satisfaction ratings that meet company standards.
  • Completes required training and development objectives within the assigned time frame.

Organizational Alignment

  • Reports to the Sr. Director, Business Development.
  • Enlists the support of sales specialists, implementation resources, service resources, and other sales and management resources as needed to support the sales process.
  • Closely coordinates company executive involvement with customer management.
  • Works closely with Operations Team representatives to ensure competitive and profitable proposals are presented to customers, and to ensure customer satisfaction and problem resolution during project implementation.

Skills and Minimum Experience Required

  • Have a proven track record with global hyperscale companies in the data center vertical market with minimum 5 years of experience.
  • Have 10 years of experience selling hardware and software solutions in global geographies.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in BMS solutions.
  • Has a proven global network of decision makers and influencers within the data center vertical market, specifically regarding BMS, ESG & cybersecurity related systems.
  • Has a proven track record of presenting to customers, influencers and at industry trade shows and events.
  • Be able to identify an ideal customer type that is in position to become a qualified lead.
  • Exceptional written, oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle various priorities.
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license.
  • Personal computer proficiency.

 

Job Requirement and working conditions

  • This position may require travel up to 40% (global).
  • All prospective employees must pass a background check.
  • This position may require the employee to maintain a home-based office.

The range for this position is $80,400.00  to $144,700.00  Placement within this range may vary, depending on the applicant’s experience and geographic location.
