How you will contribute:

We're seeking talented and enthusiastic Advanced Manufacturing Engineer with experience improving process integrity. This person should understand the user requirements and ensure that we meet engineering releases for PPR by driving early maturity in our readiness actions around smart cell technology. Job Responsibilites:

  • Design and implement new equipment and manufacturing processes to increase production's efficiency and quality.
  • Project engineering/management, including creating and maintaining project logbooks, design reviews, progress control, pre/final acceptance with suppliers and internal departments.
  • Establish and maintain project schedules/ timelines to meet planned milestones and supplier timing.
  • Lead complex projects that cut across various organizational, functional, and international boundaries.
  • Manage production quality processes and procedures to increase production throughput 
  • Design assembly drawings, fixtures/jigs, mechatronic solutions for assembly work cells and process lines. 
  • Responsible for collecting and reviewing production data from production cells to ensure implemented process improvements are sustained
  • Work with Acuity Brands Engineering function in the planning and designing of new products to ensure new products are designed for manufacturability and service.
  • Participate in Kaizen events to improve ABL processes.
  • Train production operators on new machines and manufacturing processes.
  • Research and review industry trends and technological advancements by attending trade shows, reading various trade publications, and working with vendors.

Qualified Applicants will have:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering
  • 1 to 4 years Manufacturing Engineering experience.
  • Expert knowledge of mechanical and electrical control systems and design.
  • Working knowledge of office and CAD software.
  • Basic knowledge of tool and die concepts.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities to resolve issues with mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Drafting skills with Autocad, Inventor, ProE, Mastercam, and basic knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Knowledge of machine tools including welders, mills, lathes and various mechanical and electrical hand tools to create jigs and prototypes.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as assembly, painting, spinning, welding, punch press, brake press, hydroforming and basic knowledge of die design principles.
