Job Summary

Acuity Brands is seeking a passionate and experienced Product Manager to join the A-light business unit in Oceanside, California. As a market leader in industrial technology, we develop innovative lighting solutions that make a difference. In this role, you will drive all aspects of product line management for A-light, playing a pivotal role in bringing new products to market and ensuring the success of our existing portfolio. You will report directly to the Vice President and General Manager of A-light.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

  • Lead product line management for A-light products, conducting thorough market research and competitor analysis to identify opportunities and develop strategic product roadmaps.
  • Manage the product portfolio, ensuring alignment with Acuity Brands Lighting (ABL) operations and product group
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (engineering, marketing, sales) to develop and execute comprehensive product launch plans.
  • Define pricing strategies based on market trends, competitor analysis, and cost considerations.
  • Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization, ensuring alignment and collaboration.
  • Support the development of compelling product marketing materials and presentations.
  • Contribute to the creation and execution of product training programs for internal and external audiences.
  • Analyze product performance data to identify areas for improvement and track key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Participate in the development and execution of new product introduction (NPI) strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering and operations, to ensure effective communication and resolution of product concerns and the completion of modification requests
  • Provide expert product support, addressing escalations from front-line customer service and technical support teams.
  • Assist with product validation, application guidance, technical data, product functionality, and replacement parts inquiries.
  • Maintain and update product literature, including spec sheets and other forward-facing documents.
  • Create and sustain product line within Product Data Management (PDM), including accurate attributing maintenance, sustaining product configurator for accurate validation, pricing, lead times, assemblies, and imagery.

Skills and Minimum Experience Required

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, marketing, or a related field. MBA a plus.
  • 4+ years of experience in product management, preferably within the lighting industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully launching new products and managing existing product lines.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate market data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience leading and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • A passion for innovation and a strong understanding of the lighting market.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.
  • P&L management experience strongly desired.
