Job summary

If you want to be on the cutting edge of technology and touch all facets of business, then this is the group for you! This position is responsible for the technical liaison between various groups including but not limited to product development, product support, customer service and production.   This position will work in an electromechanical environment and will be essential with the product design, part assembly and detailed part drawings. You will work on prototyping, testing, and assembling prototypes and samples. In this position, you will be working with a cross functional team to improve quality, reduce cost and ensure consistent delivery of products using various engineering fundamentals.

Key task and responsabilities

•    Manages relationships with internal manufacturing facilities and external vendors to resolve part or assembly issues, deviation requests and bill of material errors, and schedule and conduct pilot/pre-production runs, first article inspections, tool run-offs and plan for production release. 
•    Continuously looks for, and actively implements process improvements related to productivity, quality, purchasing and manufacturing; to include sourcing new or alternate processes, equipment, and/or training of manpower. Looks for advancements or changes in technology via tradeshows, technology councils, vendors or other methods. 
•    Teaches/supports ABS/Lean Transformation by actively participating on, or leading, Kaizen teams and leading the completion of post-Kaizen activity.
•    Teaches/Leads various aspects of the design process including, but not limited to, the development of part geometry, assembly design and drawing generation. Design work varies from new product development to product enhancements and cost reduction activities. Develops, distributes, and/or approves engineering data in the form of Engineering Change Notices, bills of material and parts tracking. Manage collaboration with vendor partners.

 

Skills & Minimum Experience Required

•    3 to 5 years of applicable experience required.
•    Advanced English. 
•    Mastery of 3D CAD, MS Office, etc. 
•    Teaching LEAN & Six Sigma methodology and practices such as standard work, time study, cause & effect, 5WHY analysis and other tools of DMAIC. 
•    The ability to communicate the status of projects effectively in team meetings.
•    Works well in cross-functional team environments. 
•    Knowledgeable in several aspects of luminaire design including but not limited to thermal, electrical, mechanical and optical considerations. 
•    Proficient in a number of manufacturing methods (such as stamping, drawing, casting, extruding of metals and plastics) and finishing techniques (such as painting, plating, anodizing, and vacuum metaling). 
•    Leadership to influence and enlist the cooperation of other team members to work towards the goal of completing and implementing new product development on time, and in budget. 
•    Thorough understanding of applicable standards such as UL, DLC, and/or Energy Star standards and testing processes.
